A list of some things we are loving during the toddler stage!

At just about 21 months, Camden is deep in the toddler stage. Parenting a toddler basically feels like you are living with a tiny, crazy person who just told you they wanted eggs for breakfast but now is attempting to throw them across the room because he now wants yogurt. It’s also grabbing your hands and bowing his head multiple times during dinner so that you have to pray over and over. It’s melting down like clock work every day while you are trying to cook dinner (the witching hour struggle is real) and wanting/screaming at you to listen to the same dang song every second of every day. But it’s also using a selfie stick as a microphone while “singing” that same song and hearing a little voice try to say “I love you” (“I jew ew”). I’m not crying, you’re crying. It’s the hardest and the best thing all at once. But that’s parenting in general, right?

I’ve been really trying to pay attention to what you all want to see more of on the blog (based on who reads what and what you are clicking on while you are here). Since this Melissa and Doug Keurig was one of the highest things you all have clicked on EVER it seemed like a signal fire to share more of the things we are loving in this toddler season.

Pillowfort Medium Luna Lounger Chair

A total dupe for the Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair. I actually got our’s on clearance last year for less than $30 but I would pay full price for it again. And I almost paid even more than that for an Anywhere Chair! This chair has held up great to all the lounging, climbing, and pulling it around all over the house. To wash you just remove the cover and stick it in the wash. Love this thing!

Melissa and Doug Puzzles

Ahh, puzzles. Parents, don’t we love to hate puzzles? So many pieces. But there is something about watching your kid master a puzzle that just makes you feel like are a raising a baby genius, right? Melissa and Doug make the best puzzles in my opinion.  Camden mastered these jumbo ones within what felt like two days so I started collecting up ones with the smaller pegs (this is another favorite) but these chunky ones with no pegs are great for this age, too. We don’t usually utilize the “sound” feature because who actually needs more toys that make noise? Not me. And if the pieces aren’t in their spots (which is 70% of the time I’d say) they will randomly make noise.

Radio Flyer Steer and Stroll Trike

What is it about being outdoors that makes children so happy? This boy would go out there in -30 degrees and be happy as a clam. Brr. Anyways, he got this Radio Flyer Trike for Christmas and it took him a while to warm up to it but no he is OBSESSED. He rides it around the garage sometimes when I put my foot down about going outside in the cold. He hasn’t figured out how to pedal yet, so I just push him mostly but it’s really easy to push and steer.

Cat & Jack Clothes

Cat & Jack, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. Not only is Target’s Cat & Jack line insanely affordable and cute it’s the only brand that actually fits my 90th+ percentile (height and weight) child well and holds up well in the wash. If my child is dressed (let’s be honest there are some times I don’t fight that battle at home) I can guarantee you at least 75% of his outfit is Cat & Jack. I could go on and on about how much I love them and why they are better than EVERYONE (for us), but I’ll leave it there. Some current favorites (pictured above) include this Valentine’s t-shirt, joggers, grey tennis shoes, black tennis shoes, the best pants ever (soft and stretchy but look nice – our favorite jeans alternative), sweater/shirt combo, khakis (soft waistbands for the win) and chukkas.

KidKraft Vintage Kitchen

Best purchase ever! I’ve talked about my love for our KidKraft Kitchen many times and it’s still so true! There are so many knobs and doors to open and so much play food to throw on the floor.

Contigo Water Bottle

I still have to remind him 10x a day to use his water bottle instead of mine but these are his favorite cups right now. I even put smoothies in his sometimes and it’s a dream to clean!

Crayola Color Wonder

All the parents said, “God bless Color Wonder.” In case you don’t know, Color Wonder markers ONLY color on Color Wonder paper. Nothing else. Not clothes, not furniture, not your table, NOTHING. I got our first one for our plane ride to Orlando in November and we are hooked! I give these to him sometimes when I’m cooking dinner so I know if I have to turn my back for 5 seconds he can’t do any damage. There is a second or two of delay in the color after they mark on the page which frustrated him the first few times, but now he is used to it and loves them! They have all sorts of books too like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Beat Bugs, PJ Masks, and more!
