OUR LAST 10 AMAZON PURCHASES

Amazon Prime, how do I love thee, let me count the ways! Sometimes I feel guilty for all the online shopping (mainly Amazon Prime-ing) that I do because I work for a small, local business and I do think it’s important to shop local. But let me give you two quick examples of why the retail store is dying, if I may. Camden was in a small accident last year and needed his car seat replaced ASAP so one afternoon we drove to every car seat retailer in our city to look for one. I finally came to my senses and tried checking the store’s stock online and Babies R Us said it was “most likely” stock. Huge eye roll right there but I made the trip. I unloaded my kid, drug him in to yet another store, and tried to find what I was looking for on my own. There were many car seats on the shelf that you could just grab and go but of course there was a sign that said “ask an associate for help with this model!” on the one I need. I proceeded to push the little button that was supposed to bring someone to help and proceeded to wait 15 minutes with a whining toddler for someone to come over. NO. I immediately text my husband and said “this is the exact reason moms Amazon EVERYTHING.” Oh, and they totally didn’t have one there.

The second story is about the mall. Please tell me if this is a thing where you live too! Yesterday, Camden and I popped over to the mall after nap so I could try a few things on at Old Navy (which I then turned around and bought online lol). One of the people that works at one of those little skin care kiosks seriously walked right next to me trying to get me to try his hand cream for a good 30 seconds before he took my no for an answer. Then he basically proceeded to call me rude. To my face. I get they need to make a living but it’s super frustrating to have to deal with every. time. we are there!

Tangent/vent session over.

It seems like you can literally find anything on Amazon (if you have the patience, which most of the time I do not) from food, to houseplants, to fashion, to personalized photo Christmas cards and it absolutely blows my mind! I looove seeing what random treasures or just plain normal stuff people are buying off Amazon. In the spirit of nosiness, here are the last 10 things we have purchased from Amazon:

1. Echo Dot (White) – They were running a sale on these right before Valentine’s Day and I scooped one up to gift to Nathan. I wasn’t sure how he would feel about it or find it useful but we are all obsessed! Even Camden who loves to say “A-wes-i” (which she totally recognizes as Alexa BTW) but then doesn’t really get what to do after that, ha. She plays music, gives us the weather and time (because who has the time to look down at their phone?!), and Nathan has he set to give him a news update every morning. Siri who?

2. BEAKEY Makeup Brush Set – I juuust purchased these yesterday but I’ve heard good things! I’m in desperate need of new makeup brushes but the price tag on them is CRAZY. This set was only $10 for all 12 brushes. Sign me up!

3. Melissa & Doug On the Go Water Wow! – The last addition (I promise babe! Probably.) to Camden’s Easter basket. These things are so cool!

4. Little Blue Truck’s Springtime – We can not get enough Little Blue Truck around here and they just released this book! I almost bought it at Target one day but hopped on Amazon to see how much it was listed for and since it was a full $3 less, I told Cam he was going to have to wait – ha!

5. Rose Gold Sunglasses – The only thing I have purchased in forever that wasn’t Prime eligible. I ordered these a few weeks ago and they will be here the first week of April. Eye roll. But I thought they were super cute and a total steal at $5 including shipping!

6. Mark: A Double-Edged Bible Study – We are doing this study with our couple’s group right now and really like it! They have one for most books of the bible.

7. Vanilla Nut Pods (4 Pack) – My favorite Whole30 coffee creamer for a while! I can get these locally now that our Fresh Thyme Farmers Market has opened but before February I had to get them on Amazon!

8. SONGMICS Outdoor Rectangular Patio Table and Chairs Cover – We were really irresponsible homeowners last year and didn’t cover our patio furniture over the winter. Bad, bad move. Apparently, wood should not be left to the elements. Who knew. Anyways, it looks terrible now (hopefully a fresh coat of stain this spring will bring it back to life) but Amazon to the rescue for this year. This covers the table and all the chairs, too!

9. Primal Kitchen Ranch Dressing – So many Whole30 people raved about this ranch dressing and since none of our grocery stores had it, I Amazon Primed it of course! It was actually very disappointing to me. Make your own dump ranch at home!

10. The Complete Toy Story Collection on Blu Ray – Nathan found a good deal on these on Amazon and picked them up. We love Toy Story so upgrading our DVDs to Blu Ray made perfect sense 😉
