CAMDEN’S SECOND BIRTHDAY

We are juuust about a month removed from Camden’s second birthday and it may seem silly to want to go back to recap it now, but I feel like these are the most important things for me to blog about! I always want to remember these sweet, simple times because they truly mean the absolute most to me.

In case you haven’t noticed, we are BIG on celebrating things in this house and birthdays are no exception to that. Making the days special and making memories with my boys fills my heart to the absolute brim! Camden Lewis turned two this year and we had THE BEST time celebrating him!

We started the morning with a semi-failed attempt at balloons in the birthday boy’s room and some mediocre grocery store donuts but we soldiered on! And frankly, the birthday boy didn’t care that the helium didn’t hold in his balloons and he had a ball licking the icing from the top of his donut so you know, that’s all that matters.

My goodness, that face. It brings tears to my eyes. How did I get so lucky with the sweetest, most handsome two-year-old in the whole world? My heart can not handle it.

Rain Boots
Someone took my pattern mixing (shirt and shorts) and decided to run wild! If the birthday boy wants to wear his dino boots and hat this mama is not going to stop him.

Since his birthday fell on a Wednesday, Cam spent the whole day with his Mimi! They had a ton of fun until I picked him up after nap time. Once dad came home from work, we headed straight for his favorite meal and had Panera Bread’s mac ‘n cheese for dinner. There is exactly one thing I can count on him eating every single time and that’s mac ‘n cheese.

After dinner we stopped by Orange Leaf which and let him run wild filling his bowl with ice cream and toppings!

Love these boys of mine!

A couple of days later we had a small party at our house with family and a few close friends. I kept everything super simple with basically no decorations, all store bought or pre-made food (Chick-fil-a nugget trays fo’ life), and a bounce house and water table in the back yard for activities. I made this chalkboard four minutes before the party as opposed to working on one for four weeks before his first birthday party. Simple parties forever.

There was absolutely no “theme” to this party but I had to add a few fun touches to my construction-loving-boy’s cake! I ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate icing from our favorite bakery then added a mini dump truck, some crushed Oreos, and Kit Kats and he thought it was the best thing ever!

He ripped off the truck as soon as he was level with the cake and went on and on about how he “ate da dirt on da truck.” AKA how he licked the poor dump truck to death.

Can not believe this boy is TWO!

My shirt (super cute when worn correctly, ahem) | My shorts (OBSESSED with these and they are $17!)
So happy to be raising babies alongside these two amazing friends!

That smile. That hair. Swoon.

We celebrated my birthday just two days after his! I love sharing a piece of my birthday spotlight with this precious boy! Best birthday gift ever.

Camden Lewis, watching you grow and change this year has been the most amazing thing I have ever witnesses, truly. You are learning, growing, and becoming more independent every single day and as much as I thought I loved the baby stage, I love this stage even more. Being a wife to your dad and mom to you are the two best gifts I have ever been given. You have such a gentle heart and I can’t wait to watch you become a big brother this year!!
