FRIDAY FIVE

The only reason I’m sure it’s Friday is because the title of this post is telling me so. This week has mainly looked like this…

…thanks to a stomach bug that came through and wreaked havoc for the majority of our week. Hopefully that explains the lack of posting around here. We all seem to be back to normal going into the weekend though, so for that I’m grateful! This mama does not do well cooped up in the house all day. We had a few good snuggle sessions (like when he fell asleep on my arm in our bed – I swear that hasn’t happened since he was an infant!) though and I’m very grateful I have a job where I can work from home almost as easily as anywhere so I can be the one to take care of my sick boy.

Since we were out for the count much of the week and Nathan is home from some traveling, we will be sticking close(ish) to home this weekend and trying to play catch up. Whatever you are doing this summer weekend, I hope it’s a great one! Here’s today’s Friday Five:

Baby Moccasins

1. Baby Girl Sansing
One AMAZING part of this week was we found out who the next member of our family is! Thank you for all your sweet love on our announcement of Lucy Anne! I can not believe we are going to have a little GIRL in December! I don’t think I’ve fully wrapped my head around it yet. We’ve had the name Lucy picked before we even knew Camden’s gender so we’ve literally been talking about the concept of “her” for years and it feels a little surreal that she is real! It’s such an honor and of course a blessing to raise a little girl and we are so so so excited! See the full announcement over on Instagram including a precious video of Camden talking about “baby sister.” Melt.

Striped Beach Bag | Sand Away Bag

2. Beach Bag Recommendations
A few weeks ago I asked for recommendations on a good, large, mom friendly beach bag over on Instagram and someone suggested this enormous thing. (Sorry I can’t remember who! I’m the worst.) I’ve been using a Lilly Pulitzer for Target bag for a few years and while it’s super cute and great for my personal pool/beach use, it’s not practical for carrying ALL THE THINGS I’ve added to my bag now that we have a child. I will report back for sure after our trip, but I think it’s going to be a winner! It’s huge, sturdy, and has some nice outside pockets. I also picked up this sand away bag specifically for those toys and other items that get wet/sandy/dirty. 31 days until we hit the beach!

FAVE Maternity Active Tank | FAVE Maternity Running Shorts | Tennis Shoes | Hat

3. Preggo Running
At this point in my pregnancy with Camden (21 weeks) I had all but given up on physical activity so I’m very proud to be keeping up with any workouts at all! I went on a short, slow as molasses run on Monday night after being cooped up with a sick toddler all day and it was such a great stress relief and attitude shift. I’ve talked about the anxiety I have during pregnancy before and being able to run and do my normal(ish) workouts while pregnant really puts into perspective for me how amazing our bodies are. I’m so grateful for a strong, healthy body to carry another healthy baby. (Side note: I’m loving the wireless headphones I got on PrimeDay! I’ve been looking for some that are not AirPods because #imcheap and after trying a few that were truly terrible I can highly recommend this $20 pair.)

4. Baseball & “Hireworks”
We have been experiencing some of the most gorgeous weather over the last week and last Saturday was incredible! We spent the morning at my mom’s pool and decided to make our child’s day by taking him to a hometown baseball game that night since the weather was still so bearable. Camden’s baseball obsession is already sprouting AND they were having fireworks after the game (he has talked about fireworks every literal day since July 4th) so we decided to give it a shot. 3 hours and only 7 innings later he was totally over it and was content to watch “hireworks” on YouTube before bed. It’s a weird time to be alive, guys. But it was a fun night!

5. When Life Gives You Lululemons
I finished When Life Gives You Lululemons this week and LOVED IT! If you were a fan of The Devil Wears Prada when it came out (15 years ago, go ahead and let that make you feel old for a second) I think you will really, really like this book. The ending was tied up a little too nicely for me but the rest of it was so good. Highly recommend! I started this book next and haven’t made it far enough in to feel any type of way about it but I’ve heard mixed opinions from others. Have you read either of these trendy summer reads?

Have a great weekend, everyone!
