The closer we get to baby number two the more grateful I am for weekends like this one. Plenty of family time, one-on-one time with Nathan, and time with friends – it fills me up! Add in the fall festivities and it’s basically what my dreams are made of. I love this little family we are making and I’m just so darn grateful for this season of life. Here’s a peek at our weekend:
Friday started with snapping a few photos with my boy on the way out the door. “I take more pictures by da pumpkins, mom!” It’s pretty much a daily occurrence now (delaying getting in the car for where ever we are going is the motivation, I’m sure) but I don’t hate it one bit!

Friday at work then proceeded to kick my bootay. You know that book Little Fires Everywhere? I haven’t read it, but I identified with that title on Friday. Including when a kid (not mine) pulled the fire alarm. Kids man!
I was a ball of stress by the time we left work but was so happy to have a night out with Nathan on the horizon. My dad and step-mom were going to take Camden a high school football game but it ended up being too rainy and cold. He ended up just hanging at at their house while Nathan and I got to sneak away to Bonefish for dinner. If you have a Bonefish near you, RUN don’t walk in to get the lobster and shrimp gnocchi special. WOW. So so so good!
We got this picture from my parents while we were gone. Obviously someone was really sad he didn’t get to go to the football game… #cozy
Saturday started bright and early so we ate breakfast and cleaned the house a little until it was time for the main event of the weekend: Going to the pumpkin patch! Our besties and godson were supposed to join us but our godson was feeling under the weather so they opted to stay home. We were bummed but made the most of our morning!
It was SO COLD on Satruday morning. As in, the “feels like” was 38! We look like we should be going to the Christmas tree farm instead of the pumpkin patch in these photos. But we bundled up and none of us cared one bit once we were there and having a blast!

Local friends, we love Mayse Farm Market’s pumpkin patch! They have SO much for kids to do. Our 2.5 year old was just big enough for almost everything this year which made it even more fun! We highly recommend it. Here’s the point where I let the pictures do most of the talking because there are A LOT of them:
I love doing life with this guy!!
Once the nice man told him he could ride on the actual tractor, Camden was very uninterested in picking a pumpkin. He love for trucks of any and all kinds is my favorite.

After a couple hours of fun at the patch we grabbed some lunch then headed home where I promptly put our favorite chili in the slow cooker. I make an adaption of the chili in this cookbook and I’m going to share the recipe later on this week! Do you all ever actually cook out of cook books? I have a few that I love and use pretty regularly.

Next up were some of the most glorious naps I think Cam and I have ever taken. I slept like a rock for two solid hours and we had to wake him up around the four hour mark of his because some family was coming over to paint/carve pumpkins with us! We decided to let him paint a pumpkin (he ended up painting just about every one in the house he could) then he and Nathan carved one together. He was a lot more apprehensive of getting the guts on him this year than he was last year!
We continued our tradition of watching It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown while we carved and then moved on to Curious George: Halloween Boofest. Both were very welcome after almost two solid weeks of The Polar Express being the only thing he wanted to watch. Very, very, VERY welcome.
We tried to keep Sunday as laid back as possible after such a busy Saturday. We went to church then the boys headed home while I stayed and served in the nursery for the second service. I finally decided to give them notice that I was going to be done serving that way at the end of October. Time to get ready for baby girl!! Time is flying. We should buy some diapers.
We finally snapped some pictures next to our pumpkins outside since it was too dark the night before:
You don’t need to tell me he might be an artistic genius, I already know. I have a feeling we are not done decorating pumpkins for the season since that is the first thing he asks to do every morning. The boy loves a holiday. I don’t know where he gets it!
