Happy Friday, friends! We’ve got a fun, busy weekend ahead. Things are really moving at the new house and even though I’ve given you some sneak peeks of the kitchen I’m itching to get over there this weekend and show you everything we’ve done! If you are into home reno stuff make sure you are following along with my Instagram Stories this weekend!
1. First things first, Happy 5th Anniversary to this hunk! I can not imagine a better husband or father than this guy. He is so selfless and puts up with a LOT from all three of us daily. Thank you for loving me so well, babe! I thought I was crazy in love with you the day we got married but it was nothing compared to how much I love you today. Let’s celebrate our love this weekend by painting our new house.
2. These Babyganics Bug Wipes were a super popular item in Monday’s Target post! (They are now sold out at Target so that’s an Amazon link). I swear I may new use traditional bug spray on my children again – that’s how much I love these things. I’m not chasing a baby (or three year old) around with a spray bottle praying some of the spray doesn’t get in their eyes while they flail themselves around. Plus, since its Babyganics, it feels like it’s gentler on their skin. Most importantly, they work! Lucy was getting eaten alive outside last night before I wiped her down. Highly recommend!
3. I’ve listened to two great books recently City of Girls and The Wedding Date and I would highly recommend both!
City of Girls is about a young lady, Vivian, in 1940 who gets sent to live with her aunt in NYC when she drops out of college. Her aunt runs a broadway play house and she becomes the costume designer and gets in alllll sorts of trouble. I was really skeptical about this book because It’s historical fiction and I always think I dislike historical fiction until I actually read it. Then I love it. It’s also told in “letter” form which I expected to hate but didn’t. This story is SO good – until the end. The last few chapters fell a little flat for me but I LOVED the majority of it! I listened to this on audiobook and the narrator was fantastic!
The Wedding Date was more of a fun, romantic read but I really enjoyed it, too! Alexa agrees to be Drew’s date to his ex’s wedding after they get stuck in a hotel elevator together. Their relationship continues for a few weeks after but neither think it will last. I loved the dynamic between the two characters in this story. It’s a little sexy but not overly so. Super fun, easy read or listen!
4. Pardon me while I continue to swoon over this photo of my TEN month old!! Lucy is sleeping (slightly) better, has two half-teeth, loves blueberries but no other fruit thank you, and will be walking any day now. She does not appreciate being contained by her car seat, high chair, or even your arms while holding her. Her smile lights up her whole face and she is an absolute joy – as long as she is doing exactly what she wants lol. She says “Hi!” and everything is “dada” all day long. I guess it’s time to start thinking about her first birthday party!
5. Highlighting one more thing from Monday’s Target post here – these jeans! Ugh I love them so much. I’m not typically a fan of distressed denim, I tend to lean more towards classic and polished styles, but I love these! They are seriously SO comfortable and flattering. They have a zipper and front button but no front pockets making them more like a true jegging. If you aren’t in to spending a lot on trendy denim I would highly recommend giving these a try!
Have a great weekend!
