Oh hi friends! It seems like it’s been way longer than just over a week since I showed my face around here, it sort of feels like I’ve lived a whole life since then! A whole super exciting life that includes teaching many late night training sessions and babysitting coaching some middle school cheerleaders through many basketball games. Thank goodness for the nice break I got over the weekend – the crazy starts full force again today! Luckily, my life gets substantially easier after I get through the next few weeks so then I can focus my attention on getting ready for the really hard stuff, motherhood
I’m trying this new thing where I am early to where ever I need to be. I’m never super late to things, but I try to fit too much in and be “right on time” which sometimes means being late. And I hate that. So I’m working on it. This new thing I’m trying has allowed me the opportunity to read a little more – in the car while I’m waiting! I finally finished The Choice and I could not recommend it more.
As I mentioned, I’ve spent a lot of time with my precious cheerleaders lately! They are typical middle school girls, a lot of drama and attitude mixed with being the sweetest people ever. As many times as I think “I’m so ready for this season (and season of my life) to be over” I’ve thought just as many times about how much I’m going to miss them when it’s over.

Your four-year-old and I probably have a lot in common lately, especially when it comes to our lunch. Grapes, cheese, crackers, and turkey pepperoni – I already can’t wait to eat this for lunch today
Friday I saw The Choice with my bestie! It was pretty good. I wasn’t in love with the people they cast as the two main characters but it was worth watching! Bestie + Uggs + Free Popcorn = The happiest of Friday nights. I actually made it through the whole movie without falling asleep, too. Miracles happen, people.
The invitations to my first shower are officially out! Ugh, can you handle the cuteness? I can not wait to celebrate with the people who love and pray for this little boy so much already!
Nathan and I took our childbirth, childcare, and breastfeeding class on Saturday. It took literally all day but I would have sat through two more full days – I thought it was fascinating! Nathan looked at me like I had lost my mind when I said that to him but it’s true. So much has changed with what they recommend for labor, delivery, your stay in the hospital, and feeding even over the last year and it all seems to make a lot more sense/to be more natural to me. We both left the class (where yes, we watched several different videos of women in different stages of labor) so excited! I left with my mind even more set on attempting a natural birth. But more on that another day. Calling that statement right now as the one that gets the most comments of this whole post
Sunday was Valentine’s Day (duh). It started at 5 AM with some of the craziest abdominal pain I’ve ever had. We waited until the after hours line of my doctor’s office opened at 8 and called immediately. The doctor on call gave me some things to try for a pulled muscle (Tylenol, a warm bath, nap) and I did feel better after that. So I rallied for our early dinner date to Bonefish and then to get BOGO free froyo at Orange Leaf! So much yum.
Told ya, I’m always wearing this dress.
We came home from dinner to find that our koala dog had decided to raid the candy dish that has been sitting on our coffee table since Halloween – that he has never shown any interest in. Major eye roll. We tried with no luck for a couple of hours to get him to it throw up but he seemed to be fine otherwise. Of course I was a nervous wreck all night, waking him up 20 times to make sure he was alive. So my children, (and husband and myself) are obliviously seriously doomed to get no sleep when they become sick.
We are headed to Ikea this coming weekend to pick up a ton of things for the house! Can. Not. Wait. President’s Day sales can not be beaten so I made sure to pull the trigger on almost everything else we need for the nursery – all on major sale! I can’t wait to share it with you over the next few weeks.
Can’t wait to catch up with you all today! Linking up with Biana, Erin, Katie, and Christine.
