IKEA TRIP PLANNING AND INSPIRATION | ROUND TWO

A few weeks ago I mentioned that we were heading to IKEA in St. Louis, which is about 2 hours away from where we live, to pick up a few things for the house. Unfortunately, we were planning on borrowing a friend’s car for the trip (Nathan’s car is too small and mine is too old to trust) and that car started having trouble the Thursday night before we were planning to leave. Womp womp. It was actually a total God-send that our friends noticed it when they did because said car is STILL in the shop with major motor issues which could have been really bad.

Anyhoo, we are going to try again this weekend since it is the last free Saturday we have for a while, but I guess we are going to have to rent a bigger car (which is an even bigger womp, womp) but we just don’t have the time it takes for them to ship anymore. This little boy needs a bed! And a dresser! And a changing table! More so, I need the sanity I will feel when his room is put together before I’m 35 weeks pregnant for goodness sake.

An Ikea trip (for me) requires a plan. I get overwhelmed by the candle options at Target so if you’ve ever experianced Ikea, you know I could have a real problem. There are just so many options! My first Ikea Trip Planning and Inspiration post is still one of my most popular ever, so I thought I wold do the same things for this round!

IKEA Purchase
White BILLY Bookcase
We have a super awkward, huge, empty corner in our living room that I have never been able to figure out what to do with. As soon as I saw that Pin with the Billy Bookcases I was HOOKED. I definitely want to put doors on them, and I’m hoping they can help us find ones that fit while we are in the store, but we shall see.

IKEA PURCHASE
MOSSLANDA Picture Ledge
Surely every nursery that has been designed in the last 2 years has incorporated something like this, but I don’t even care. The rooms in our house are fairly small and with everything else these babies need, there is no space in Camden’s room for a bookcase. Plus, it’s super cute.

IKEA Purchase
MALM 6-Drawer Dresser
We are actually picking up two of these, one for our room and one for the baby’s. I love love love those round drawer pulls for ours, so that should be happening once I clear that look with Nathan. Camden’s dresser will also be used as a changing station, like the one above. For that reason, I’m not sure if I will add drawer pulls or not. I like the thought of having the clear, acrylic bar-type ones on this one, but will bumping my shins into them in the middle of the night be annoying? Help me out, momma friends!

IKEA Purchase
SUNDVIK Crib
This one has no inspiration picture because it’s pretty self explanatory! Friends meet crib. Can’t wait to add our navy Pottery Barn bedding to this simple crib.

Fingers crossed they have two more of our outdoor chairs in stock, too. I’ve been to Ikea twice since we purchased the set last spring, and they haven’t had them!! Please, please, PLEASE Ikea. Get it together.

What about you guys? Are you Ikea people? Do you get this excited over Ikea trips? Lol.
