Hi friends! Long time, no talk! We are loving this stage of life but honestly, parenting + working + everything else doesn’t leave me a lot of brain cells to feel like I’ve got something meaningful to say at the end of the day. Many props to those of you that do it so well! You make it look easy when in fact it is not.
Since it’s been so long, I thought we could ease in and do a quick “life lately” in five quick snippets:

It’s finally cooling down (though it is supposed to be almost 90 on Saturday when we are planning to go to the pumpkin patch, wah) which means we are going to need to start lining up some indoor activities, stat. Camden wants to be outside basically any time we are home and that’s fine for now, but once it gets cold…mama just can’t. We have a great children’s museum and even though we’ve been a couple of times, Cam finally seems to be the right age to really enjoy some of the exhibits. (Including climbing up to the top of the three-story slide, I had to really button up my big girl pants for that one.) We will definitely be asking for a membership for Christmas!

I now fully understand the popularity of the “Easy Weeknight Dinner” and “20 Minute Meal” recipes – witching hour is real, people! Woof. One of our favorites lately is chicken sausage, potatoes, and green beans with a little olive oil, garlic salt, and pepper then roast at 375. I did the potatoes for about 20 mins on their own then added the sausage and green beans for another 20. So yummy and even the baby ate everything. Amen.

The closer it gets to Halloween, the more Christmas talk starts creeping in our house. Once Halloween is over? You will not hear any non-Christmas music or see anything but Christmas movies playing on our TVs, we just can’t contain it any longer! Obviously our son is going to fit right in with his love of Christmas decor, Home Alone (ok he doesn’t know what that is but he did bring it to me to “watch!”), and his budding love for Christmas music (specifically Jingle Bell Rock at this point – I’m usually sick of that one by the end of the day). I CAN NOT WAIT.

Excuse the messy room (I don’t know what exactly that is on the floor but I can assure you it’s not dog poop, even though that’s exactly what it looks like) but I’m obsessed with these Kut from the Kloth jeans I picked up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They. Are. Amazing. High-waisted, stretchy, and a great color. They are on sale right now for the same price I paid during the sale – more than 30% off! If you are looking for a nice pair of jeans, I highly recommend!

5. ED SHEERAN IN NASHVILLE
Last weekend Nathan and I we able to sneak away to Nashville for the night to see one of our favorites, Ed Sheeran! We stopped for tacos and margs near the stadium at a place called Bajo Sexto for dinner and the food was just ok. A far cry from our favorite, Bartaco, but we got in town too close to show time so we had to stay within walking distance. The concert was amazing, of course. He seriously puts on the best show and completely solo. As in, he is the only one on stage making all the beats and harmonies and all those other musically lingo terms on his own. It’s incredible! The next morning we tried to sleep in then headed to Frothy Monkey for brunch before heading home to our boy. We needed some solo time together badly and I’m pretty sure that 24 hour break was the main reason I didn’t have a nervous breakdown this week. It’s a lot harder to get away these days but it is always so worth it!
This is the last weekend basically for the rest of the year that we don’t have something major going on, so we are going to try our best soak it up! Hope you all have a good weekend!
