Hellooo Friday! Ya’ll. WHAT A WEEK. Nathan came home last night after traveling for work for five days and we were in survival mode over here awaiting him. Camden had some sort of virus that had him acting completely normal for about six hours then turning into a fever-filled monster the next six. It was pitiful! I took a ton of pictures for a couple blog posts but they got put on the back burner while I tried to keep us both alive, sorry about that. #sorrynotsorry Single parents: You are my actual heroes.
He seemed to be feeling better yesterday, thank the good Lord for that! We’ve got a good mix of busy/relaxing weekend ahead and I’m really looking forward to it. I hope you all enjoy your weekend as well and enjoy these Friday Five!
RUG | COUCH & COFFEE TABLE ARE FROM IKEA | PILLOWS ARE OLD FROM TARGET/TJ MAXX
1. We finally got our new rug down in the living room and you all liked it so much in this post, I just had to share the final result! Nathan and I both completely love it which is really #marriagegoals, am I right? It brought the level of cover up in this room about 500% so I think we are all set now. OH, one more thing. We are getting rid of that coffee table. It looks good in the photo but it’s just too big for the space. I’m kind of thinking of not having one and just doing a big ottoman. Maybe like this? But hopefully a little bigger like this one? Thoughts?
2. Friends. Stop what you are doing and read The Last Mrs. Parrish. The first half of the book my thoughts were “Ok, this seems like it’s heading towards a Lifetime Movie-esque ending and I don’t sympathize with this character at all but I do want to see what happens.” EH, WRONG. The second half of the book was a total game changer. This is probably my favorite book I have read this year. Totally get the hype and would highly recommend if you like suspense novels.
LASH PARADISE MASCARA | VOLUMINOUS PRIMER
3. Hello, newest holy grail beauty product! I have decent enough lashes so I never really thought that lash primer would be something I needed. Then I had fake lashes for my sister’s wedding and realized how much potential was still there, ha! I went to Target to grab my mascara (which I talked about my love for in this post) and this primer was sitting right next to it and I thought, “Why not give it a shot!” and I’m so glad I did! It definitely makes my lashes longer and fuller. I was worried about how my mascara would apply once I had the primer on but it went on like a dream. Highly recommend this combo!
4. Thank the good Lord for healthy toddlers, sunshine, and 70 degree weather. Those things are just good for the soul, right? We spent every second possible outside yesterday soaking it all up! It’s been a long, long winter this year.
5. Speaking of toddlers I need some advice! If you use an Ok To Wake type of clock, when did you start? This child desperately needs one! Case and point it’s currently 5:41am and he’s sitting up in his bed saying “Mama?” I’ll ignore him and he’ll go back to sleep but he’ll probably want up for the day around 6:15 and frankly, I’d like to extend that. I want to transition him to a regular bed soon and I feel like starting with the clock may be better while he’s still in the crib, to get used to it? Is he too young? (He’ll be two next month). And which clock do you use? I’m thinking the Hatch Baby because I like that it can be all the things (sound machine/night light/ok-to-wake-clock) but am open to suggestions!
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
