TODDLER APPROVED, NUTRIENT PACKED GREEN SMOOTHIE (ALDI RECIPE)

This green smoothie is a tried and true favorite in our house! Packed with so many nutrient rich foods (all found at Aldi!) that your toddler won’t know what hit them. 😉

The satisfaction I get when Camden eats a vegetable and doesn’t realize it is unmatched. Please tell me I’m not a lone in this. He used to put up with me adding broccoli to his mac ‘n cheese (or “and cheese” as he likes to call it) or mixing a protein and veggie together on his plate and eating every bite. But that was before he knew he could use his thumb and pointer finger to pick out the things he didn’t like. Sigh. Now, any time he willingly eats anything that isn’t a carb, fruit, or dairy Nathan and I give each other a look that says, “Stay chill. Don’t make direct eye contact until he has finished chewing and don’t act too excited.” The struggle is real.

So the fact that he asks for a “shoo-shoo” aka this green smoothie almost daily gives me happiness I can not describe because there is no way he would get this many rich nutrients in his diet without it. Packed with fresh spinach, protein-rich greek yogurt, fruit, and our favorite green juice from Aldi (which is full of more veggies, fruit, no added sugar, and super foods like spirulina) he thinks he is getting some sort of special treat and I am happy to let that idea continue.

Green Smoothie Recipe:
1/4-1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt (I buy the vanilla but they have a plain version, too)
1 Cup Green Goodness Juice
1/2 Banana
Large handful of Spinach
Put all ingredients in a blender, liquefy, transfer to our favorite toddler cup with a straw, and enjoy! If I’m making this for myself I use frozen banana and a few cubs of ice but my toddler doesn’t care about the consistency so I usually don’t bother if it’s just for him.

These are the Aldi products I use to make our favorite smoothie.

Best cups ever!

He legitimately has this for either breakfast or lunch 4-5 days a week! Sometimes if he is begging for one at snack time I will just mix some of the Green Goodness juice with some plain almond milk and he gobbles that up, too!

Do you have any tried and true ways to sneak more vegetables into your kid’s diet? Let me know what works for you or tell me your favorite smoothie combination in the comments!
