Sorry not sorry for the dramatic title of this post. These things really are that good! They are also super random so brace yourself for that. Home purchases so often get left off the old blog because they just aren’t that cute, am I right? Does anyone really want to hear about my blinds? Maybe, but where exactly do they fit? I’m really not sure but as I was having full on conversation about cleaning products with some friends this weekend I thought, “This is obviously where I’m at in my life. Why the heck not?” #thisisthirty I can’t stop talking about and recommending these four random household items so I thought I would share them with you all, too!

iRobot Roomba 690
So I thought I wanted a Roomba…and then I got one for Mother’s Day. Now I don’t actually know how I lived my life without it for almost thirty years. What is it about having swept floors that makes my house feel not only so much more clean but also like I have my life together? I don’t know but I do know that I am now firmly on team Everyone Needs a Roomba. Especially if you have pets! Or children! THE SUMMERTIME GRASS MESS. I can not.
I run the Roomba in our kitchen almost daily and the main living areas about every other day and guys, it’s full every. single. time. It’s incredible but also disgusting. Where does it come from? Do I even want to know?
Let me just say that while this fancy contraption is amazing, it’s not perfect. Maybe my OCD is showing but the thing makes no sense in the path that it takes around the house. If you let it roam totally free it will make a straight line through one room, then enter another and vacuum one line in that room then turn around and leave after it bumps into a wall. I can not stand the randomness of it so I generally trap it one room at a time by closing a door, blocking it’s path with something it can’t get around, or using the nifty contraption that came with it for that purpose. I just find it to be more efficient. Still, highly highly highly highly recommend!

Hanging 3 Wire Basket with Shelf
We have always been big fresh food people but once we started Whole30 in January it went to another level with the amount of veggies and potatoes I had to keep on hand to make it through a week. Plus, since we do the majority of our shopping at Aldi, we can’t just buy one item at a time so suffice it to say the onions, avocados, and three kinds of potatoes were over taking my counter and driving me insane.
I knew this basket was a genius solution to my problem but I had no idea how many people would feel the same way! Seriously, everyone (ok, every FEMALE) who has come over to our house has commented on how awesome of a solution this hanging basket is. It’s from Hobby Lobby and I actually spotted it online first but didn’t want to pay for shipping, so I drug Nathan around the store one Saturday “date night” and I couldn’t believe we found it there! It was on the very tip top shelf (thanks for climbing that ladder, babe) in the area where they have all the basket options. Obsessed with this thing!

Cordless Blackout Shade
Why on earth we went almost two years without blackout shades in Camden’s room is actually beyond me now that we have them, but I’m here to testify that they really are amazing! The most recent Daylight Savings Time change really rocked Cam’s sleep schedule and our already early riser was up and ready for the day before 5:30 for about a week before we (finally) hightailed it to Lowe’s for these blackout shades. Game. Changer. They literally make his room pitch black in the middle of the day. These curtains and a sound machine and this boy naps for 3+ hours and goes right to sleep at 7:30pm. He still gets up a little bit too early most days but I guess he can stay for now. Oh, and they are cordless (you just push them up and down) so they are super safe for littles! Love!

10 ft. Inflatable Pool
Last, but certainly not least, is our new, ginormous inflatable pool! I actually picked this up at Aldi a few weeks ago but they have the same exact one at Target for only $5 more, and $20 is still a total steal for this thing if you ask me. We had some friends over Saturday night and the toddlers spent the entire night playing in it then Camden promptly got right back in after church on Sunday morning…and again after nap. If he doesn’t play in it again all summer (like that’s ever going to happen) I’d still call it a win! On Sunday Nathan and I actually both got in it as well (because hi it’s hot here) and there was plenty of room for all of us. Our neighbors were out playing in their REAL pool and probably talking about how pathetic we were, but no shame here my friends.
PS. The reason Nathan is standing so proudly next to the pool here is because he blew the whole thing up with air from his own lungs. Don’t ask me why, I don’t understand it, but he has never been prouder.
Have you all made any fun adult purchases lately? Also, I’m happy to answer any questions you all have with any of this stuff so just send them my way! I’m pretty sure I could talk about that Roomba for actual hours.
