Life lately has been busy, but fun! I’ll be 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow (HALF WAY?!) and have been in the second trimester sweet spot for a few weeks now but I know it won’t last forever so we’ve been soaking it up while we can. It’s been forever since I did one of these posts and I’ve got a ton of pictures, so I’ll them do most of the talking:
This boy has been THE SWEETEST with all his baby talk lately. He will grab the ultrasound pictures off of our fridge and say “Baby sister in mommy’s belly!” (Ps. We don’t know the gender yet) and one night he randomly grabbed this bear and has been acting like it’s a baby ever since. It’s super precious…until the baby “cries” inconsolably all night. Fake crying is so much worse than actual crying, lol.
AMAZON SUNNIES (less than $5 shipped!)
We took a quick morning trip to a neighboring city this weekend to play at their epic park, splash pad, and enjoy some lunch. Local friends: Smothers Park in Owensboro is everything it’s cracked up to be and more! We went early (around 9:30) but it opens at 7:00 so you could go even earlier to beat the heat. Taking on the huge park sans daddy was nerve-wracking, how on earth do people not have a nervous breakdown taking multiple children out in public?!
Those jets of water are small now but Camden did NOT appreciate how tall and forceful they became.
Nathan is smack-dab in the middle of a heavy travel season so we are soaking up the time we have with him, too! People always act like they pity us when we tell them that Nathan has to travel regularly for work and while it can be difficult of course we both know with 100% certainty this is the Lord’s plan for this stage of our life, at least, and have total peace about it. I can’t speak for Nathan (though I do know he loves his job) but I know that for me personally, travel is a part of A LOT of people’s jobs. People have to travel for work, that’s just how it is. I would much prefer there be more people with strong moral values (like my husband) traveling away from their families than some of the stories I hear about on the regular because…woah.
Living in these Old Navy slides this summer! (Currently marked down to almost $10 with code MORE)
“Wook mom! I make da wetter snake!”
Sometimes you just gotta beat the heat with indoor fun at CMOE! We are so lucky to have this awesome children’s museum in our city.
This silly, imaginative stage is not fun at all.
I have a terrible time with protein powders and I’ve never found one that I can drink for weeks and months on end without ending up with tummy issues – until this one! Almost daily my breakfast is 2 cups almond milk, a frozen banana, two scoops of this powder, then I fill my blender to the top with frozen spinach and blend. It seriously keeps me full until lunch most days!
No idea where he gets his dimples. (Nathan has one too!)
We had some unseasonably cool weather a few weeks ago and took advantage by hitting up the zoo! I can’t say it’s as awesome as our children’s museum, but they are trying!
I caved a bought a felt letter board (on sale for Prime Day for only $18!) so that my family could leave me notes about how much they love me on it.
And we could announce our second pregnancy of course.
Legit always trying to drink my coffee. Good thing it’s usually decaf right now. He seriously snagged my skinny vanilla latte last week and sucked down the entire second half within 2.5 seconds.
These Whole30 Chicken Lettuce Cups from Hope Heart and Home are so flavorful, easy, and reheat like a dream. Even Nathan raves about them and home-boy does not usually appreciate his food being served in a lettuce wrap!
When the stars align and you get to work at the same time as the trash truck. This boy is LIVING for any sort of truck and has to constantly point them out and what “what truck doin’ mommy?”
And to wrap up – we’ve been living in this pool! (PSA I just checked that link and that pool is only $22 today at Target!!) I probably sound like a broken record with this thing but seriously, it has been the best money we’ve spent this summer. Maybe next year we’ll have a real pool!

I love toddlers. They don’t care if it’s a real pool, inflatable pool in the backyard, or some water shooting out of the ground. If it’s water, they are happy!
Loving this sprinkler as well!
I know I’m biased, but CAN YOU EVEN with how cute this child is? He is forever putting that Dollar-Spot hat on backwards by himself and I just die every time. Are we really going to be able to make another child this cute?! I’m nervous…
Well, that was a hefty post! If you are interested, I’ve been posting my Prime Day picks (I went a little overboard last night…whoops) over on my Facebook Page. I found some really great clothing pieces (you guys know I’m all about those right now), kids stuff, and random goodies. I would love it if you checked it out and liked my FB page!
