We have been busy busy around here lately with trying to get some home projects done while I still have the motivation (nesting is in full force!) and sprinkling in some summer fun! Nathan is also in a super heavy travel season at work right now so I get very protective over our family time when that happens. Not ideal when it happens during the busiest month of the summer but we work with what we’ve got. Here’s a peek at life lately:
This KID you guys. Words can not express how much I love this age! Other than his daddy, he is quite literally my favorite person to hang out with on the planet because he is such a JOY. Every day he does something or says something new that reminds me he is not a baby any more and half of me is proud but the other half is sad. I start to get panic-y when I think of how fast time is moving!
If you were over on my Instagram stories this weekend you saw me chronicle the purging/organizing of the playroom closet. AKA where we (I) shoved all the sh*t that didn’t have a home for FOUR YEARS. That mess pictured (minus the toys) was not even close to everything that was actually in there! INSANE. But it’s all cleaned out now and we are working on a shelving solution so that the majority of the playroom toys can be stored in there. Amen. I’ll do an updated picture when I have something significant to share. Right now it looks like a pretty much empty room and a closet full of toys, ha.
BED | SHEETS | COMFORTER
We’ve also been working hard on Camden’s big boy room! It’s no where near blog-worthy yet, but we are getting there. The rest of the stuff to organize his closet came in last night so that’s what I’ll be working on today and I can not wait. The nesting is real.
Guys, the holidays are coming!! We had a door-hanger painting party/shower for one of my friends who is getting married this month and I couldn’t resist adding another Christmas themed hanger to my collection. I LOVE how it turned out!
One of my co-workers made my child’s dreams come true by taking him out on a school bus that was there waiting on some kids to finish up their field trip. I love my sweet tribe at work! All of them from top to bottom love my son SO well and I really couldn’t make it work without them.
MY NEW FAVORITE CROSS-TRAINING SHOES
I’ll be 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I’m still getting in workouts about 3x a week! I told myself that I would NOT let a little back pain stop me in my tracks with this pregnancy and it has been the BEST decision not only physically, but mentally even more so. I’m a better wife/mom/employee/human when I’m doing two things regularly: 1) Reading my bible and 2) Working out. It’s just the truth!
We celebrated my dad’s birthday over the weekend and I could not be more thankful that he is just as good of an Opa to Camden as he is as a dad to me! It’s not lost on me how lucky my son is to have six grandparents that love him so much and desire to be a part of his life.
Camden is all of us trying to figure out how to eat corn on the cob. Feel you, bud.
MY FAVORITE SUMMER SIDE – FARFALLE, ARUGULA, FETA, & PINE NUT PASTA SALAD
That’s pretty much exactly the same enthusiasm I used to eat all this. Ok, not all of it but I made a good effort. We are getting to the point in pregnancy where being full means misery, heartburn, and no sleep so I’m trying to be extra careful, especially at dinner. Tums are already a daily necessity, wah.
Only one more week until Camden starts pre-school! He will only be there two mornings per week but it will be the two mornings we have spent doing fun stuff (and sometimes not so fun stuff) this summer and I’m trying not to go into a full on depression over it. I’m SO grateful for the time we had together, just the two of us, this summer. Next summer we will have baby sister with us!
Ah, the shaved ice struggle. Nathan and I love shaved ice so we keep trying to have that family experience and it’s just a fail every time, ha! Camden likes the IDEA of it because he can tell it’s a treat but he does NOT like to actually put it in his mouth. I’m guessing it’s too cold?! I don’t know but it’s hilarious/crazy making to watch. Maybe next year!
FLORAL CRIB BLANKET
Moving Camden out of the nursery is definitely the priority before I start updating it with more girly accessories (the wall color and furniture will all stay the same) but when I saw this blanket on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I couldn’t stop myself from picking it up. My first baby girl purchase! I can not believe there will be a little GIRL in our family by the end of the year. It’s surreal!
And that’s a little look at our life lately! Have a good day, friends!
