It feels good to be back in the Friday Five swing of things this week! We are going into the weekend with a clean house and almost zero plans other than a pre-natal massage (thanks to my sister-in-law!!) for me scheduled tomorrow. I’m hoping Nathan and I can squeeze in a date at some point because it has been WAY too long since we have had one. Are there any good movies you all have seen lately? I’m so not up on these things like I used to be.
Whatever your plans are for the weekend I hope you have a great one and enjoy these Friday Five!
1. Back to School Night
Summer break from pre-school is officially over! Wednesday night we visited Camden’s classroom for the year and got to meet his new teachers at Back to School Night. I’m excited to get him back in a more structured learning environment but I will miss the extra time we’ve had together this summer. He developed SO much during his one morning per week at school last year – I can’t wait to see what he learns this year! (Maybe they will teach him to look at a camera and smile? #lifeskills) The room was complete chaos with all the kids and parents there and it made me SO grateful for teachers who deal with any group of children on the daily, woof.
2. Closet Clean Outs, Nesting, and Slobbery
As I mentioned on Monday, I have purged and organized three insanely full closets this week which has been SO satisfying. We also got all the baby clothes, blanket, and swaddles down out of the attic to go ahead and pull what we could reuse out and I got all of that washed and put into Lucy’s closet. (Side note: HUGE waste of time. I literally found three onesies, a pair of moccasins, and maybe two pairs of neutral pants. Why is everything for boys BLUE?! Eyeroll.) It’s been a productive week to say the least! So I was cracking up last night when I walked i and realized what MY closet looks like at the moment. It’s rarely organized for more than a day but guys, that is BAD. There is even a video over on Instagram Stories where you get the full effect. Lest anyone think I have my crap together…there you go!
3. Use What You Have Dinners
Speaking of Instagram Stories, I’ve been trying to share more of our dinners over there! This week was pretty quiet as far as dinner cooking goes because Nathan was out of town and I’m just not cooking a full meal that only I will eat, you feel me mom’s of toddlers?! (So instead last night I ate half of a moldy turkey sandwich before I realized it was moldy. Que me Googling food borne illness in pregnant women. Not something I would advise.) Anyways, I’ve been trying to purge our freeze and pantry along with the rest of our house and had fun coming up with some “use what you have dinners.” The one pictured is a half bag of leftover hash browns, crumbled turkey sausage, and scrambled eggs. I would never take the time to make that for breakfast, so it was fun to have for dinner one night!

4. Halloween Jammies
It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year…holiday pajama time! If you’ve been around here for more than a minute you already know that the obsession is REAL over here. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Old Navy had their Halloween PJs up and I’ve been stalking the website ever since waiting for them to go on sale. On Monday the stars finally aligned and I snagged the two above for just over $10 at 40% off! They are still a steal at 30% off today, making them around $11, so go snatch them up now because they WILL sell out of the majority of sizes very quickly!
5. Polar Express
Local friends: We got our tickets to ride the Polar Express in French Lick on the first weekend of November this week and I simply can not contain my excitement! Camden is going to absolutely freak out! (The child actually cried when we left the Christmas tree aisle at Hobby Lobby yesterday… I don’t know where he gets it.) It’s something we’ve always wanted to do (like even pre-kids, ha) but when we found out Baby Sansing #2 is due in very early December this year, we just weren’t sure if it was something we wanted to tackle. we decided to just go for it and are literally counting down the days!
That’s it for today! Enjoy your weekend, friends!
