OLD NAVY ACTIVE TRY ON – JANUARY 2019

After being cleared at my postpartum check-up last week I basically RAN to the gym to work out – I’ve missed it so much these last couple of months! However, I quickly found that my active wear wardrobe was missing a few vital pieces from over use or just plain not fitting right now. Since I knew finding a few pieces that fit my needs was going to take some heavy trying-on I asked you all on Instagram if you would rather see a Target or Old Navy active wear try-on and Old Navy won by a lot. So here we are!

My goal for this trip were to find at least one new sports bra, a few warm pieces I can wear for runs outside this winter, and maybe another top or two for indoor workouts. So those are the main things you will see me focused on! Side note: This try-on was such a crap show behind the scenes. I had exactly one hour to get it done, Lucy was screaming about sitting in her car seat (so you will see her laying on my sherpa vest behind me in some of these photos #bestmomever), and yeah. Almost eight weeks postpartum is not exactly the time I would recommend stuffing yourself into spandex and taking photos of yourself for the internet.

Last thing. For reference I’m about 5’4 and currently wear a size 10 in pants and usually medium tops. I generally size up in athletic tops though so most of these are larges. I’ll talk more about the sizing under each photo.

FUNNEL-NECK PERFORMANCE PULL OVERHIGH-RISE ELEVATE LEGGINGS
First, let’s talk about the leggings I’m wearing in this first set of photos. They are called high-rise sculpt leggings but I have cotton leggings that do a better job of sucking everything in. I also have A LOT to suck in right now so I may try them again once I lose some weight. They were also super thin. Which actually might be great for indoor workouts but since I was looking for more cold weather gear I didn’t end up with them. I’m wearing a large.

I did LOVE this funnel-neck pull over and it came home with me! I’m wearing a large in the photo but ended up bringing a medium home. While it looks cute an over sized it was too big and would have bounced around too much while running.
SIDE-TIE PERFORMANCE TOP | HIGH-RISE ELEVATE LEGGINGS

This side-tie top was another that came home with me. It has really cute mesh detail on the back, too! I’m wearing a large.

FULL-ZIP PERFORMANCE JACKET | HIGH-RISE ELEVATE LEGGINGS

This full-zip herringbone jacket was SO pretty. All the had in my store was a medium (pictured) but I probably would have gone for this over the pullover if they had a large. SCOOP-NECK TOP | HIGH-RISE ELEVATE LEGGINGS

This scoop-neck top comes in a few great colors and ties cutely in the back. I didn’t love the purple color and that was the only one they had a large in at my store so I plan to order another color online!

HIGH-RISE BUILT-IN WARM LEGGINGS

Such a flattering angle, lol. These built in warm leggings were winners and came home with me! They will be perfect for outdoor runs/walks this season. They were soo soft and cozy that I might pair in black just to wear around in these cold winter months. High-waisted too because duh.

TIE-BANK TANK | HIGH-RISE BUILT-IN WARM LEGGINGS

They are tying everything at Old navy this season and I’m not sure how I feel about it. Though they do show this top untied on the website and it didn’t even occur to me to try it that way! I loved the style and color of this tank but they only had a medium available in my store (pictured) and I would have wanted it a little looser. Keeping it on my wish list!

MESH-TRIM PERFORMANCE TANK | HIGH-RISE BUILT-IN WARM LEGGINGS

I didn’t buy this tank because I don’t need them right now but I wanted to point out this new (to me) material they are using. I’m not sure what it is really but it’s really stretchy. Almost compression like, but in a top. This is a large and it was realllly tight, but in a good way. It sucked everything in. Just thought I’d share because it was one of my favorite tank options!

MESH-TRIM PERFORMANCE TOP | HIGH-RISE BUILT-IN WARM LEGGINGS

I did buy this long-sleeve in that same material, though. It will be perfect for outdoor runs!

RACERBANK PERFORMANCE TANK | HIGH-RISE BUILT-IN WARM LEGGINGS

These are my favorite Old Navy tanks to work out in. Long, loose, and breathable. Tons of color options available!

FLY AWAY TANK | HIGH-RISE BUILT-IN WARM LEGGINGS

One more tank option I loved but again with the tie in the back! I thought the scoop in the front and the back were super cute and flattering. And you all know how deep my love for navy runs.

I also tried on almost every bra in the store but spared you photos of that. I ended up with this one in a 38D. I’ll show a little more of it on Instagram Stories later but it was the heaviest support option.

Just as a side note these are my all time fave old navy compression leggings and they also sell my favorite socks to work out in!

Let me know if you have any questions!
