Is this thing on? I’ve been missing the creative outlet of the blog SO much the last like…year? and a bunch of you on Instagram said the same thing! So here I am, dipping my toe in the water with a Friday 5 post. No promises on regularity but I do love sharing my life this way!
Please forgive anything that looks funny here right now. Turns out, if you fully neglect your blog for almost a year it takes a lot of work to get it back to “normal.” Would not recommend!

Eeeeek! I could not be happier for my friend Kristy on the release of her newest book, Feels Like Falling. I’ve been lucky enough to read all of Kristy’s previous book and GUYS, this book is hands down her best. No exaggeration. It’s a perfect mix of fun, summer. beachy read (my fave) with a lot of heart and depth. A must must MUST read!!

Entryway Wainscotting
A few weeks ago we finished the wainscotting in our foyer/entry. I love it! I’m still looking for some sort of faux tree to replace that thing with the cotton stems but it’s coming together how I pictured it in my head! We actually continued it alllll the way around this area – I’ll share the whole thing once I have it decorated! But let’s do one before photo of this space just for kicks…

I lived in these $8 Walmart sandals last summer and when the trend continued this summer, I grabbed another pair! Mine were looking rough. I wear these everywhere – errands, the pool, the beach, playing outside. They are honestly so comfortable! I took a mile plus walk in them the other day and had no trouble. Totally worth $8!

Master Closet Barn Doors
Nathan is making my master closet barn door dreams come true! The closet in the master was really terrible when we bought this house (it was almost the reason we didn’t!) so we basically had to do something totally custom and crazy. Right now, it’s basically just a huge hole in one of the walls of our bedroom! When I was researching ways to make it work for us I ran across this post and knew their door system was what I wanted!
Nathan is an aspiring woodworker at heart (you learn something new every day…) and whipped up some doors last weekend! Now I’m trying to find a stain that I like which is proving VERY difficult!

Donate to The Loveland Foundation
My friend Laura’s sorority is fundraising for an amazing non-profit, started by Rachel Cargel, called The Loveland Foundation. According to their website
“The Loveland Foundation was established in 2018 by Rachel Cargle in response to her widely successful birthday wish fundraiser, Therapy for Black Women and Girls. Her enthusiastic social media community raised over $250,000, which made it possible for Black women and girls nationally to receive therapy support. Black women and girls deserve access to healing, and that healing will impact generations.
The Loveland Foundation is the official continuation of this effort to bring opportunity and healing to communities of color, and especially to Black women and girls. Through fellowships, residency programs, listening tours, and more, ultimately we hope to contribute to both the empowerment and the liberation of the communities we serve.”
Please consider donating to this important work here.
Have a great weekend, friends!
