One full week of our back-to-school/fall routine down and I think we are finally getting the hang of things! As a person who thrives when busy getting back to semi-regular life (aka having a reason to leave the house almost daily) has been amazing. Especially for my mental health! Hang in there, friends. Gosh this is a tough season!
1. Camden had his first t-ball game last Saturday and it’s just as precious as you would expect. He’s actually one of the older kids on the team (he’s four) and it’s just hilarious to see all these babies in their too big pants and shirts, knocking each other over and fighting over balls in the field, looking bewildered when their bat actually makes contact with a ball. He will still also blow me kisses from the field and let his sister come in the dugout with him. Please please please stay little and sweet forever!
2. I finished the second book in the American Royals series last week and it was AMAZING! The ending of the first book left me SHOOK (see also: MAD) because the author is not one to tie up an ending with a nice little bow (which makes it easier to write and sell more books so I get it!) and the second book is no different in that way but I still loved it. The story is set in present day American but in a dystopian society where George Washington became the first king instead of the first president. So these books follow his descendants as the monarchy faces modern day issues. Highly recommend!
3. Nothing screams fall quite like a fresh pair of Zellas and a new outdoor rug situation, am I right?! Well, maybe some rapidly dying mums or a PSL in my hand but I don’t like PSLs (it’s one of my saddest truths) and it’s been too hot for mums in Indiana. But we’ll get there! I love the layered rug look and this red checked rug straight up called my name as soon as I saw it at Target! I grabbed a new “Welcome” mat too because our old one was looking rough.
4. My regular clothes wardrobe (aka not workout clothes or swimsuits) has been found to be very lacking after 6 months at home so I’ve been scrambling for a few cute options. Now that I’m no longer breastfeeding (I can’t believe I had literally JUST STOPPED breastfeeding Lucy before quarantine!! That feels like an entire lifetime ago.) I’ve been buying allll the dresses. This Target dress is a real winner! I think it will transition to fall with booties and a sweater well in a few weeks too.
5. Who here loves their Peloton?! I still can’t believe it but Nathan ordered a Peloton bike a couple of weeks ago and it will be here Monday! I haven’t loved cycling in the past but I have really fallen in love with the Peloton community since I started using the app last month so I’m excited to try it again. And to be honest one class in college was probably not giving it a fair shot, ha! Drop me your username in the comments so I can follow you on there!!
Have a great weekend!
