It’s been a minute since I did a day in the life post! They are always some of my favorite to look back on so I definitely wanted to make sure to do one in this crazy season. Here’s a little peek at what a regular (relative to the crazy train that is 2020 of course) old Monday looks like these days!
4:30 – I wake up on my own (my early riser friends know the struggle) so I go ahead and get up and get dressed for my workout before heading downstairs to make my preworkout and grab some water.

4:50 – Upstairs in the office where I ordered a few things on Amazon that were knocked out of our last Subscribe and Save for whatever reason. I’d love to say 2020 has been the reason I now buy dog food and scrub brushes from Amazon but…I’ve been doing it for years! I did a whole post on how we use Subscribe and Save that you can read here.

5:15 – I hop on the Peloton and do a 30 min XOXO, Cody ride (these are my FAVE!) and 10 min of arms. Beyond obsessed with getting this amazing workout in first thing in the morning. The endorphins are everything!

6:08 – Time for a shower. Still using this shampoo and conditioner combo and loving it! I think I’m going to add this styling cream from the same company to my next Amazon order. I’ve heard great things and I’m almost out of the Aveda one I’ve been using (and loving!)

6:30 – I’m out of the shower and us this Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Body Butter for the first time. LOVE! It’s thick but not sticky and as the perfect, subtle pumpkin smell. 10/10

6:35 My little buddy is awake in his cutie Halloween PJs. He asks to make his lunch (he is very excited about some single serve Pringles we got at the store over the weekend, it’s the little things guys!) and I let him even though I usually make him get dressed before we do anything else.

I make some coffee using one of these kcups from Target. They don’t make the almond toffee one that I drank in the fall the last few years which is a huuuge bummer. I should have hoarded some! But these are fine and taste fallish.

6:50 Camden hears Lucy making noise upstairs so he runs up there while I finish packing up his lunch. Two minutes later I find him up there “reading” her a book. Melt. My. Heart.

7:04 We all head downstairs dressed for the day. Lucy always wants to “help cook!” While they eat they ask for Cat and the Hat Halloween which is a turn from the normal Zootopia or Sing so I’m more than happy to oblige. We are ALL all in on fall over here!

7:10 I start to get ready. My once wet hair has mostly air dried by now so it’s not going to be a great hair day by any means. But the forecast is rainy so that was probably going to be the case anyways. I listen to the newest episode of Unfinished: Short Creek which is about, you guessed, the FLDS church. I swear this is not a cult stan blog but like I said Friday…it’s always been interesting to me! This is a new podcast with some really interesting voices from former and current members of the church.

8:04 Lucy, Camden, and I are pulling out after throwing some food in a lunch box for Luce while we are at work, rewriting a preschool check I messed up, putting on rain jackets (always a production), and running back inside to find my phone. Anyone else feel like they’ve lived a whole life by 8am?!

Honestly, the amount of stuff it takes to get out of the house for a few hours never ceases to astound me.
8:16 We pull in to preschool a minute after the doors open which is a-ok with me. It means we won’t have to wait outside in line to get our temperature taken for very long while it rains. Win!
8:43 Lucy and I make our way to Starbucks where we proceed to argue* about not listening to Wait for It from Hamilton for a 5th time in a row. I can only take so much lol. *Us arguing right now consists of her screaming at the top of her lungs everytime I say no.

9:00 We get to work! I’ve talked about this a lot but in case you are new here I work at a locally owned family entertainment center doing their marketing and events. I work in the building part time and my kids tag along with me a little or a lot depending on the season of life. Right now, Lucy is there with me one or two mornings a week max. It’s obviously a laid back environment and works for us!

Lucy asks for the iPad right away to “Watch Ham-tin (Hamilton) Mommy!” and I don’t fight it like I normally would. I usually make her play a little on her own but I know she won’t last long (she never does) so I turn it on for her while I settle in.

9:15 I realize I never ate breakfast so I quickly make a shake at my desk. I left my last canister of cookies and cream and it feels like a special treat every time I eat it. So. Dang. Good.

9:30 She is done with the iPad and does some puzzles while I catch up on reports and emails from the weekend.
9:50 She tells me “Mommy go potty” which I take to mean SHE needs to go potty. We are by no means potty training seriously but I see it on the horizon. I’m thinking over Thanksgiving or Christmas break when we are able to be home for several days in a row I will give it a real shot. Not looking forward to it at alllll though. She is a tough cookie.

Big girl got to go downstairs and get a small sucker for telling me she had to potty AND then actually going, ha!

11:20 She has already eaten lunch and played lots of toys so I give her these Halloween window clings to play with. These are awesome because they can’t really do much harm to anything. I just have to make sure she doesn’t eat them. Which she of course tries to do many times saying “gummies!”
12:15 She actually goes potty two more times while we are there and tries to get another sucker when we walk downstairs to leave. I distract her with talk about what song we are going to listen to in the car and it actually works! #momwin

12:40 We get home and I take her right to her room for a nap.
1:00 I make another shake and hop on a team call for my health and wellness business. Once it’s over I go live over on Facebook talk about how grateful I am not to have to spend my Sunday’s meal prepping any more. (No shade at all to my meal prepping friends. If that works for you, great! I dreaded it weekly and the time it took away from my family.)

2:30 Leave for Pre-K pickup. Nathan is working from home and doesn’t have any calls this afternoon so I don’t have to wake Lucy up from her nap. Biggest win of this pandemic, I swear! When we get home Camden has a snack of chocolate chips and applesauce. Doesn’t sound like a combo I’d enjoy but hey, to each their own.

3:25 We are upstairs and the kids play/read books/bother each other to the point of shrieking while I pick up. How does a two-year olds room look like this in a span of two days? HOW?

4:30 We all need to get out of the house so we go outside to play. We take a walk, ride bikes, and play tag before going inside to make dinner.

5:30 Nathan is doing a Peloton ride so I do everything I can to keep the kids occupied while I cook dinner. Some sort of tacos from HelloFresh were on the menu so I let each of them help me a little which they LOVE.
6:45 Done with dinner and headed up to take baths. They agree to shower tonight (praise be) so it’s not as much of an ordeal as it is when they take a bath.

7:15 We all cuddle up on the couch and watch about 20 minutes of Beauty and the Beast before heading up to bed (one of us chooses last year’s Christmas jammies for the day, ha). Nathan and I tag team bed time, each taking one kid and then switching the next night.

After bed Nathan heads downstairs to watch some sort of sporting event (anyone else’s husband making up for all the lost sports time over the last few months?!). I grab a mini ice cream cone then go up to our room, catch up on a little blog reading and social media while I attempt to watch Love, Guaranteed on Netflix but I’m dozing in and out from my early morning wake up so I give up fairly quickly.

9:25 I give in to sleep. I spray a little of this sleep support in my mouth and turn on a meditation on the Peloton app. THE BEST way to fall asleep!
