Friday Five

It’s Friiiiday! What a week. Did it totally fly by for anyone else? Adding school, t-ball, a little more in person work, and more workouts thanks to our Peloton and the days are just flying! I hope you all had a good week and have something (anything!) fun planned for the weekend. We’ve got our last t-ball game tomorrow morning and literally nothing else on the agenda so hopefully we’ll be able to catch up on some stuff around the house. The kid’s closets are in desperate need of purging and organizing so I’ll probably try to get that done. Wild times, friends!

1. Little miss had her very first picture day at school last week and wore her new “lay bug” dress to celebrate! She’s in a mother’s morning out program one day a week at our preschool and seems to really like it once she gets over the initial shock of me leaving her. She’s 6 months older than Camden was when we started him in this and is craaazy the difference. She will tell me allll about what they do like “Wide (ride) wagons! I sit down, buckle up! Go see horsies!” Their school is literally next to two farms so the younger kids often talk walks or wagon rides to go visit through the fence. #welcometoIndiana

I was really impressed with the quality of that dress she word for pictures. It was suuuper affordable and from Amazon so you never know! But the material is thick and the applique is really good quality, too. Definitely going to pick up a few more patterns. This rainbow dress is great too! The material is stretchy and not quite as thick as the first dress but still really nice for the price point in my opinion! Also grabbed a pack of these bloomers which are not great quality but I guess will do the trick for a few more weeks while pants are optional.

2. This week I watched every episode available of The Vow on HBO and WOW. Have you all seen/heard about this? It’s about a group (cult) called NXIVM that was presenting themselves as a personal development group but also loew key branding people with the “guru’s” initials and making people their “slaves” by forcing them to hand over nude photos and damning secrets about their family members. I’m super fascinated by cults (I will read or watch anything and everything about the FLDS church) but this is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen, period. They have tons of footage, interviews, and phone conversations of everyone in the group and it’s just…really good. Highly recommend!

3. We’ve spent not even two weeks with this dang bike and I can confidently say that both Nathan and I are obsessed! I’m working on a full post with my thoughts and some FAQs but I’m going to hop on my Instagram stories today and share a little so keep an eye out over there if you are interested!

4. I’ve shares this easy pumpkin bread (can also be made as muffins) many times over the years but it’s so good and so easy! Mix one can of pumpkin and one box of spice cake mix and then bake according to the cake directions. We add chocolate chips sometimes too!

5. The kids had so much fun putting up these bats from Amazon last week! I’m not typically a Halloween decoration type of person but my motto this year is “anything that brings joy…do that.” The kids love pulling in to the driveway and seeing their “spooky” bats so much that I’m half tempted to get more Halloween decor. Someone hide my credit card before I break down and get a put a blow up pumpkin in my yard, PLEASE.

Have a great weekend, friends!
