Top Ten Tuesday – where I talk about ten random things that I’m loving or are on my mind. If we were to have a catch up chat, these are the things I would be telling you I’m excited about right now!
1. Nathan got me this Waco Shirt from Magnolia Market as one of my gifts for mother’s day and it really is the best shirt ever. He got it to fit the 9 month bump so it’s huge but it’s so soft and comfy that I still wear it at least three days a week around the house. I see another, regular size, purchase in my future!
2. If you like the Farmhouse/Fixer Upper style you NEED to sign up for Decorsteals.com. Multiple times a day they release farmhouse style decor items for awesome prices. They have everything you can think of from big items like furniture and rugs, to small stuff like baskets and wreaths and chalkboards.
3. I let my Snap Chat friends (follow me there at rachelemily_49) know about this already but you all need to know, too. You can watch every season of The OC on the CW’s app called CW Seed. Listen, it’s no Netflix in terms of how smoothly it operates, but it gets the job done when you need your OC fix! Which for me is about once a year.
4. It’s almost comical how much less time I have spent by a pool or ocean this summer compared to all the other summers of my life. I’m telling myself it’s better for my skin in the long run (even though I SPF like a champ) and using these Ulta brand Tanning Towels to make up for the color I’m lacking. These are Ulta brand so they are totally affordable and work really, really well! Towels for life.
5. UnREAL. Do you all watch this show? I feel like this season is much darker overall compared to last season. For those of you that don’t know, it’s a scripted series based on the way they produce the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows. It’s on Lifetime and is worth a watch if you are a fan of those shows or not.
6. Call me super late to the party but I recently started reading my copy of For The Love by the amazing Jen Hatmaker and I love it, of course. She is so funny and authentic and I just love her and want to be her. The end.
7. I’ve developed a really unheathly obsession with Yasso Bars. They are a greek yogurt ice cream bar and I can. not. stop. We’ve tried the mint chocolate chip (which you can purchase with that Amazon link IN BULK which might sound ridiculous but I’m here to tell you…it’s not) and chocolate chip cookie dough and they were both phenomenal.
8. One thing for the moms! These pacifier clips have changed my life. No longer am I saying all day long “where is his pacifier?” because it’s clipped right to him, until my dog eats it right off the end but that’s another story. Yes, I do actually know that pacifier clips are a totally normal thing but these are actually cute. And your kid doesn’t have to lay around with a dinosaur sticking out of his mouth. Amen.
9. Much like birth stories, I can not read enough adoption stories these days. My current favorite is from my friend Mandy from House of Rose. They had been in the adoption process for four years before bringing their little girl home a couple of weeks ago. She has a ton of blog posts about it and it’s just the most amazing story of how God orchestrated the perfect little girl for their family. So worth a read.
10. I have seriously told everyone I know about my new favorite worship song called You Never Change. You can actually download it for free with that link! Someone asked me the other day if I listened to baby music in my car for Camden (Confession: I don’t think I will be that mom) and I told them “No. We mostly listen to Podcasts and worship music.” and that’s the exact moment I knew that I have turned into my father.
